The Boy is Back!

Mics from Jon

After nearly two decades of being told to put his guitar away — “What is that? Your calling card??” — which led him to get rid of all of his equipment, mics, and stands…

And with the only remaining evidence of his amazing talent being his 40-year-old Martin and a few warped cassette tapes…

And with the help of people who have known and loved his music for years…

And with some incredible gifts of mics and cables and a preamp from friends old and new…

We are on the verge of Ned Andrew actually recording again.

It won’t be on Music Row this time — at least not for now.

But it will be his guitar, his voice, and his songs that are captured for the folks who love, love this man and his amazing music.

Stay tuned. You’re in for a treat.

Seriously.

Because, yes, that guitar is his calling card.

And if this groupie has anything to say about it, he’ll play it everywhere he goes.

I have been called a, "PollyAnna, sugar-coated idealist." I like to think of myself as more optimistic than that.

  1. this story sounds a little too familiar!

  2. Uh, yeah! We’ve been waiting. I’ve worn out the CD he made…..we’re ready for M O R E!

    • Thanks, Mama E.

Your constant support and encouragement have been a huge help as I’ve been semi-subversively working toward this day.

Now, let’s hope I can figure out which end of the microphone plugs into the cable and which end he’s supposed to sing into. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve never been a record exec before!

      Love you!

  3. Not only have we supposedly inspired him to start playing / recording, but after your time on “The Farm,” Ned has inspired me to pull out my guitar! Someone buy that man a Beer!

    • I love that, Patrick!

As a coach, it’s always kinda cool to see that ripple effect. Someone makes a positive step and, in turn, inspires another someone to try something new. Mood and optimism are as contagious as any virus. (The downside is true, too. Curmudgeons can be a community-wide buzz kill.)

So, good on you for being open to that inspiration.

As your friend I just gotta say, “Wooooooooot!” Can’t wait to hear you pickin’ a tune at our next gathering.

  4. I think we should plan another visit to The Farm for a #70AcresOfJoy reunion. The fall might be nice.

    • Do I hear “Ned Andrew Solomon – Back to the Farm” in my future? Perhaps i’ll have actually learned a few songs by then. I’m working on Tull’s “Mother Goose” now. I’VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGA’S! (srsly!)
